A Forex Card is an easier and more secure option of handling your Foreign Exchange while travelling abroad. Much like a regular bank (Credit Debit) card, Forex Card can be used to pay for your expenses in a local currency abroad and withdraw cash from ATMs. The Forex Card is a preloaded card and can be loaded across with multiple currencies

This card is an ‘over the counter’ product and you can buy it even on the day of travel or 180 days before your travel, subject to the funds being provided the same day. However, we recommend that you purchase the card a few days in advance to avoid any last minute rush.

The Axis Bank Forex Card can be used for unlimited number of times and for multiple trips. The date of expiry is mentioned on the card.
You will have to submit a copy of the following documents to Axis Bank Branch along with the application form for the Axis Bank Forex Card.If you are applying for the card digitally, you only need to enter Passport & Pan details during digital card journey, Incase you are applying through the branch you need to provide duly filled Application form, Passport, Pan which are mandatory documents and depending on the amount of load, you may have to furnish Air ticket or Visa (any one document). Also depending on the purpose of travel and specific scenarios additional documents may be asked by the branch. During digital reload also no documents are required. However if you are reloading through the branch you are required to submit the duly filled reload form, and depending on the amount of load, you may have to furnish Air ticket or Visa (any one document) and for specific scenarios additional documents may be asked by the branch.
Procuring a card from online channel is a simple and paperless journey. You do not need to upload any documents. All you need to do is provide your PAN details, Passport File number and Passport Expiry date.

Yes. You incur no extra charges when you swipe it for the currency loaded. Which means you save on the minimum 3.5% transaction charges that are usually levied on CREDIT/DEBIT cards, when you use them abroad across POS (point-of-sales).
The usage of your MULTI-CURRENCY Forex Card should be in strict accordance with the regulations of the Reserve Bank of India and FEMA regulations. The amount loaded or reloaded on a card should be done as per the foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 and prevailing RBI regulations in force. As per those regulations, travellers can carry up to US$ 2,50,000 or equivalent worth of forex abroad in one financial year.
If you are taking the card from an Axis Bank branch, the first time loading on the Forex Card will be done by the branch itself there is a certain documentation and verification process that needs to be followed. In case you avail the card from the online channel, the funding will be done through the online mode. The limit for first loading though online channel is Min Load Amount = 1 USD or equivalent and Maximum Load Amount = 5000 USD or equivalent.
Yes, the aggregate amount of forex that can be loaded through Internet Banking or Mobile Banking App, open is up to USD 10,000 or equivalent in other foreign currencies in a financial year. However, you may continue to use other Forex Card services, including viewing the balances, mini-statement and blocking your card, available through the Internet Banking and Mobile Banking App, open facilities without any interruption even after this amount is exhausted. You may also continue to load your Forex Card up to the amount permitted under the regulations without any restrictions by visiting the nearest Axis Bank branch.
Yes, Axis Bank Account holders can reload the card through their savings account via Internet Banking, or through Mobile Banking App, open .

Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a unique 4 digit secure number assigned to your card and known only to you. It allows you to withdraw cash from VISA/VISA Plus / Mastercard ATMs worldwide and is occasionally also required at the time of transactions. The ATM PIN can be changed by contacting the customer care, visiting the Axis Prepaid Card Customer portal or by contacting Axis Bank Branch or Relationship Manager.
Contactless MULTI-CURRENCY Forex Card is a fast and convenient way to pay for every day purchases. It has a secure, contactless chip technology designed to help you spend less time at the cash counter and give you the freedom to do the things that matter the most to you. This card is powered by payWave technology supported by VISA which allows you to pay by simply waving your card.
The contactless transaction limit is normally below USD 100 per transaction. However this may vary as per each country’s regulation. Card user can check the limit with the merchant before usage. In case the transaction amount is greater than the permitted transaction limit, merchant would swipe/ dip the card in the normal POS terminal.
The Axis Bank Contactless MULTI-CURRENCY Forex Card can also be used as a normal chip card and would have all the features that are available on the MULTI-CURRENCY Forex Card.

We offer complimentary insurance cover to safeguard you from any fraudulent usage on your Forex Card due to loss/theft/counterfeiting of the card. The insurance cover is provided up to INR 3,00,000. We also offer personal air accident cover, loss of passport/travel documents, missing of connecting international flight during transit, plane hijacking, emergency medical assistance (only in India) and purchase protection cover on Axis Bank Forex Card.
ATM assault & robbery: We provide cover up to INR 60,000/- including the expense incurred towards medical treatment. Please note that an FIR is mandatory for ATM assault & robbery claim.
Customers must report any unauthorized or fraudulent transaction on the Axis Bank Forex card within 3 days of the transaction date and should get the card blocked immediately (failure to do so will result in Insurance claim being rejected). To do the same customers can call the customer care, contact the Axis Bank branch or Relationship Manager.

Yes, the MULTI-CURRENCY Forex Card should not be used in India, Nepal and Bhutan for making payments in foreign currencies. Card is also not allowed to be used in high risk countries as informed by RBI or as per Bank's Sanctions Policy Statement that Forex Card will not allowed to be used in Sanctioned countries (as imposed by UN, US, UK, EU or any other Government and/or Regulatory authorities) such as Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea (also known as Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), Crimea and Sevastopol (also known as Crimean Autonomous Republic) and Sectorial Sanctioned Countries and Territories include Russia and Venezuela.

As per regulatory guidelines on ‘Processing of e-mandate on cards for recurring transactions’, effective 1st October, 2021, several requirements have been mandated for processing recurring transactions registered on Forex Cards . In line with the requirement of the guidelines, existing / new Standing Instructions which were/are registered through Axis Bank Forex Card will not be processed from 1st October, 2021 due to non-availability of Standing Order facility on Axis Bank Forex Card. This is in line with RBI circular DPSS.CO.PD No.754/02.14.003/2020-21 with regards to standing instructions.

Yes, you can pay using your Axis Bank Forex Card directly at merchants that accept VISA/ VISA Electron/ Mastercard.
You typically don’t need to enter your PIN when swiping your card at most merchant locations. However, some may require it. If prompted, please enter your PIN yourself to maintain card security.
No transaction fee is charged when using your Forex Card for payments at merchant establishments.
You can withdraw cash using your Forex Card at any VISA, VISA Plus, or Mastercard ATM overseas. Simply insert the card, select "Checking" or "Current Account," enter your PIN, and specify the withdrawal amount in the local currency. Cash will be dispensed in the local currer and a nominal fee of USD 2.25 applies per transaction. For the latest fees and charges, click here.
Generally, the options available at the ATM for cash withdrawal are "Checking", "Credit", and "Savings". You should choose the "Checking/Current"; option. In case the Checking/Current option is not available, you should select the "Credit" option.

Also please note that in many countries the local bank or ATM network levy certain fees/surcharge over an above the Axis Bank ATM fee for allowing withdrawals from their Bank. The surcharge is charged by the local ATM owner and not by Axis Bank. Axis Bank will not be able to refund these charges. Hence, we suggest that you can look for a surcharge-free ATM withdrawal through the Allpoint Network. Through this you can withdraw cash without the ATM fees charged by the local ATM's. You can look for the Allpoint logo or use the Allpoint ATM locator to find the nearest Allpoint ATM when you are abroad. While no surcharge or fees are levied by Allpoint for the withdrawals done through Allpoint ATM network, applicable ATM withdrawal charges levied by Axis Bank will continue to be applicable.

Details of your overseas ATM withdrawal, including the amount and applicable charges, should be reflected on the transaction charge slip.
If the transaction is done in the base currency (currency with which the card was loaded), there is no exchange rate applicable. However, for transactions other than the base currency, a flat 3.5 % is levied as cross currency charges. Currency conversion is done automatically in an international online environment by the network.

In case of card loss, our Customer Service team will promptly block the card to prevent misuse and arrange a replacement within 8-10 working days once you consent to the same. The request will be processed after verifying key details such as your mother’s maiden name, date of birth, and passport number etc.

Option 1: Reset PIN via Axis Bank ATM (while in India Only). Customers can set a new PIN of their choice by visiting any Axis Bank ATM in India.
Option 2: Request ATM PIN/ Web PIN via Customer Care - Customers can also request a system-generated PIN by contacting Axis Bank Customer Care or visiting any Axis Bank branch. There is a daily limit of $10,000 or equivalent for shopping at a merchant establishments and online transactions (Ecommerce) and a daily limit of $1000 or equivalent for withdrawing cash from an ATM and contactless transactions. Daily limit for Cash POS advance transaction is $5000 or equivalent.
Cash POS advance transactions are transactions where Forex card is used at branches across International Banks for doing face to face cash disbursements. Please do note that Cash POS Advance transactions are charged at 0.50% of the transaction amount or $75 or equivalent whichever is lower. You can use the card to pay your hotel bills at the time of check-out. However, please avoid using your card for checking-in (pre-authorization) at hotels. If you choose to use your card at the time of check in, the funds on your card will be blocked till such time that the bills is finally settled. To prevent blocking of funds please make sure that all the test swipes are cancelled. If you have already settled your bill through another mode, please request the hotel to send a scanned copy of the Authorization/Cancellation letter on the letterhead of the hotel or that of its settlement to us via e-mail. Please note: the hotel should state that you have settled this bill through some other mode and they don't need the authorization taken any more. If you have already checked out from the hotel and unable to provide the letter, you can share with us with the copy of the final paid bill which contains the check-in and check-out dates & mode of payment. If the hotel claims that the transaction was declined at their end, then you should request the hotel to send us a scanned copy of the letter via email stating that you have settled this bill through some other mode and they will not be raising any claims against your card later.

Usage of the Forex Card needs to be in accordance with the Exchange Control Regulation of Reserve Bank of India and the applicable laws in force from time to time, in particular and without information, the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. Also, note that the card is not to be used for margin payments being made for online forex trading transactions.

If you’re not an Axis Bank customer but own the Forex card, visit the Axis Prepaid card portal, Log in with your Multi-currency Forex card and WEB Pin.
In certain countries, the acquiring banks may choose to activate the feature of “Dynamic Currency Conversion” on their ATM’s and POS machine network. As per this facility the ATM/POS machine identifies the Multi-Currency Forex card as a card issued from a foreign country and prompts the customer to transact in their “Home Currency”. If a customer selects the “Home Currency” option then you will be charged extra currency conversion fee, hence please do not select this option. Kindly do not use your Forex card on merchant outlets who opt for DCC - (Dynamic currency conversion) option at the time of settlement of your bills while swiping Forex card. Always ask a merchant to settle the transaction in the currency loaded on your Forex card.

Please note that as the Forex Card is purchased and loaded with the purpose of using the card in the respective foreign currency. You should avoid selecting any option that prompts for a change in usage currency to avoid any adverse exchange rate. The "dynamic currency conversion" feature may appear with differing terminology depending on the overseas bank. Axis Bank is not responsible for any "dynamic currency conversion" related charges and will not be able to refund any such charges in case they are levied on account of wrong usage of card.
Yes, you can have funds transferred from one wallet to another wallet by contacting the branch. For eg. If you have funds in USD wallet and want to transfer the same into your GBP wallet in the forex card, you need to contact the branch for the same. Please note that exchange rate prevalent on the day will be applied to the transaction
No, in order to withdraw 400 USD from the ATM, anyone of the wallets should have an amount equivalent to 400 USD including the amount to cover the withdrawal and cross currency charges.

Your card can be used for multiple trips, hence you can retain it if it is not expired and reload your card for your future trip.We also suggest that you lock your card by logging on to the Axis Mobile App or Axis Prepaid card portal for security reasons until you travel again.
The card can be encashed only after your return to India. Also, please ensure that the last transaction done on the card is more than 10 days prior to the date of encashment. For refund of the residual or unutilized balance, you can approach any Axis Bank branch, irrespective of where your card was issued. You need to fill out the refund form and submit a copy of your passport along with the form, and we will process the refund.
The Card once expired can only be encashed in case there is any balance left on the card. Or you can apply for a replacement card by contacting the nearest Axis Bank Branch.
If your card has expired before all funds have been utilised, you can contact any Axis Bank branch for refund of the unutilised balance.
