Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card is India’s first prepaid transit card offering integrated single wallet that supports regular payments across retail outlets as well as contactless payments (Tap & Pay) across KMRL metro and private buses in Kochi. The card offers integrated services to the commuters by offering them cashless metro travel, bus travel and also offers shopping experience at merchant outlets, without the hassle of carrying multiple cards. This initiative is in support of the Ministry of Urban Development’s vision to address the need of Common Mobility Card.

The Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card is valid for 3 years, post which the card can be renewed at the KMRL issuance counters.

Axis Bank will be deploying new terminals across certain merchants in the city. These new terminals will allow the merchant to reload your Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card. Once these terminals are made available, the same will be communicated and/or updated on the website here.

No it is not necessary to have an Axis Bank account to register on online banking portal for Kochi1 Card. Kochi1 Card has a separate portal that can be accessed by clicking here.

Almost all terminals at merchant outlets that accept VISA and MASTERCARD, also accept RuPay cards for payments.

There is no eligibility criterion to apply for the Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card. However, having an active mobile number is essential.

The Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card can be purchased at the KMRL issuance counters and select Axis Bank branches [Rajaji Road (Main Branch), Aluva, Kalamaserry, Edapally, Palarivattom, Kaloor, Banerjee Road, Ravipuram].

You may only own one card on your name. There would be no need to own multiple cards since one Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card can be used for all your travel and purchase requirements.

The following documents are required to be submitted for purchasing a Kochi1 Card with an upgraded Full-KYC limit of INR 20,000 :

The documents will have to be sumitted along with completely filled Full-KYC application form at the following centres:

Axis Bank branches : Rajaji Road (Main Branch), Aluva, Kalamaserry, Edapally, Palarivattom, Kaloor, Banerjee Road, Ravipuram

It is not necessary to register online since it is only one of the channels available to access any support feature. However, it is required in case you need to use any of the support features through the online portal. Balance Enquiry, Card top-up/reload, Card Blocking, etc. are the features currently enabled on the online portal.

You can top-up or reload the Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card through cash or debit card or credit card through any of the following channels:

Reloaded amount will instantly be updated in your account. Although, for it to work inside the metro, you will need to make any one of the following transactions:

Balance enquiry at KMRL issuance counter or inside KMRL metro.

Balance enquiry at any new Axis Bank merchant terminal.

Purchase transaction at any RuPay enabled merchant terminal or at the KMRL issuance counter.

Please Note: Rs. 12 will be charged for each reload.

Yes. A nominal fee of ₹12 will be charged for each instance of reloading money on the Card through any of the top-up/reload channels, including online portal.

Your Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card actually maintains its own balance in the chip in addition to the one maintained in our system. This is to allow quicker and more convenient use in transit. When your Card is used for tap and pay transactions, its balance reduces. When you do a top-up, you only need to ensure your card is updated of the same. The following are the options available to do so:
Balance enquiry at KMRL issuance counter
Purchase transaction at any RuPay enabled merchant terminal or at the KMRL issuance counter.

The minimum amount limit for topping-up or reloading the Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card is ₹100. Please note that ₹12 will be charged for each reload made through any of the top-up/reload channels, so it is advisable to top-up/reload your card with sufficient balance.

The maximum balance on the Card is ₹5,000 for minimum-KYC. For an increase in limit, from ₹5,000 to ₹20,000, full KYC documentation would be taken of the customer.

There is no limit to the number of times the Card can be topped-up or reloaded. There is, however a maximum balance limit of ₹5,000 which is extendable to ₹20,000 on submission of full KYC documents.

The per transaction limit for making Contactless payments (tap & pay) is ₹2000. The daily limit is 20 contactless transactions. There is no limit to the number of times you can use the Card at merchant outlets.

The Card may be reloaded through cash or through any Debit or Credit Card. However, as per latest RBI regulations, there is a yearly limit of Rs. 50,000 for reloads made through cash. For cash reloads above Rs. 50,000, you will need to get your PAN validated with Axis Bank.

There is no additional fee or charges on usage for fuel. All regular fees and charges (fuel surcharge) will remain.

The Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card is instantly issued to the customer on submission of the required details – name, mobile number, OVD (Driving License, Voter Card, Passport or Job card by NREGA-ID).

Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 card is valid until the last day of the month of the year indicated on the card. If your card is nearing its expiry date, then you can visit the KMRL issuance counter and get a new card (with new number). The balance amount on your card will be transferred to the new card in 5 working days.

The new Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card received by you after reissuance is valid until the last day of the month of the year indicated on the card. In KMRL metro: The pass can be renewed at the handheld terminal of the KMRL conductor, subject to required balance available on the card.

No. If you want to buy a KMRL pass, the same will have to be loaded on the Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card at any of the Issuance Counters and can be validated inside the KMRL metro with just a tap on the handheld terminal of the Metro conductor.

This Kochi1 Card can be used to tap and pay for tickets, on the handheld terminal with the Metro conductor. Pass holders can just tap on the terminal to validate their pass.

The Axis Bank KMRL Kochi1 Card is the first card in the country that can be used for transit as well as for regular payments at merchant outlets. The card does not come with a pre-set PIN; however, you can set your PIN immediately after purchasing the card at the KMRL Issuance counter or dialling the customer care number 1800 419 4477 and following the instructions. You can load money on to the card and transact only after the PIN is set.

If you have forgotten your PIN, you may reset your PIN (after verification of details) at any of the following channel:

At KMRL Issuance counter: Dip the card in the electronic ticketing machine kept at the counter and self-select PIN.

Via phone banking: Dial the phone banking number 1800 419 4477 and follow instructions to set PIN.

If the Card is lost or stolen the customer can block their card through the phone banking, SMS banking or online banking channels. An active pass on the lost/stolen card is not re-issued. A new pass will have to be purchased. All unutilized balances will be transferred to the replacement card within 5 working days, post deduction of replacement card charges.
