About this Services
Electronic Clearing Service
ECS is an electronic clearing system that facilitates paperless credit / debit transactions directly linked to your account and also provides for a faster method of effecting periodic and repetitive payments.
Benefits of ECS (Debit)
Through ECS (Debit), you can pay all your utility bills (electricity/telephone/mobile bills, Credit Cards, etc), Mutual Fund (SIP), Insurance premium, loan instalments, Credit Card payments, payments of donations and other bill payments.
How will you gain from ECS?
For your convenience, Axis Bank has tied up with various service providers across the country.
All you need to do is to register for bill payments with your service provider, banks and financial institutions by providing details such as name, account number, name of the bank /branch, MICR code, etc.
Security & safety of your money
To protect your account from excess debits, you can select the top-limit for your account. If your bill amount exceeds the limit, the payment will be cleared by the bank, only after obtaining your approval.
Electronic Clearing Service was introduced by Reserve Bank of India to provide faster and repetitive payments by directly debiting customers accounts thereby minimising paper transactions and increasing customer satisfaction.
As per the existing system, customers are required to make payment towards electricity, telephone, insurance premium, etc. by either issuing cheques or paying cash at the collection centres/ designated banks. For making the payment, the customer is required to stand in a long queue, whereas, in ECS there is no cash transaction or payment through cheques.
A mandate is collected from the customers by the utility companies, banks/ financial institutions receiving periodic /repetitive payments towards electricity bills, telephone /mobile bills/ loan installments/insurance premium/ Mutual Fund (SIP), etc. to directly debit their bank accounts. The mandate contains the details such as name of the customer, account number, name of the bank/branch, MICR code, etc.
