  • Ensure that all mandatory fields marked with an asterisk (*) are completed. Omitting any may lead to rejection.
  • Enter your full name as per the supporting documents. Do not use abbreviations or initials.
  • Father's name is mandatory; mother’s name is optional unless relevant. Do not mention the spouse’s name in the father’s name field.
  • Double-check your date of birth and address.
  • Provide the correct source of income and profession code, referring to the official chart or dropdown list for accuracy.
  • Write a complete postal address, including the correct PIN code, and provide a valid telephone number or email ID.
  • Do not overwrite, correct, or use white ink on the form.
  • Do not submit proof of identity or address that is not in the applicant's name.
  • Applying for multiple PAN cards is illegal. Do not submit Form 49A if you already have a PAN.
  • Do not staple or pin the photograph on the form.
