Vipul Agarwal

Vipul Agarwal is the President, Head – Retail Liabilities & Fees, Axis Bank. He joined the bank in January 2026.

Vipul brings over 25 years of diverse experience across financial services and management consulting, including senior leadership roles at the Piramal Group, McKinsey & Company and PriacewaterhouseCoopers. In his previous stint with the Piramal Group, Vipul built and scaled up multiple businesses from scratch, including prime and affordable housing finance, digital unsecured lending, cross‑sell and embedded finance platforms. He delivered strong P&L outcomes while driving innovation across technology, customer experience and compliance. He also led the establishment and expansion of Piramal’s Housing Finance business – pivoting from prime to budget and affordable housing and strengthening growth in Bharat markets through agile operating models.

Prior to joining Piramal, Vipul worked with McKinsey & Company as a Junior Partner in their financial services practice in Mumbai and Netherlands.

Vipul is an alumnus of the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.
