The Axis Bank Foundation (ABF) was set up in 2006 with a sharp focus towards increasing the livelihood opportunities of rural communities living in some of the most backward regions of the country.

Today, ABF is working towards its mission of supporting livelihoods for 2 million families by year 2025. Our programs are carefully monitored and their impact is measured so that they may evolve to meet the needs and aspiration of the communities that they serve.

Through its Rural Livelihoods program, ABF uses a multi-pronged approach that includes natural resource management, improving agriculture productivity, livestock development, access to finance and markets and promotion of micro- enterprises. The program lays significant emphasis on empowering people to lead their own transformation, thereby ensuring long-term sustainability.

Despite having the world’s largest youth population, India faces a challenge since the majority of the workforce are under-trained and have little or no employability skills. The Vocational Training program focuses on enhancing employability opportunities for youth by providing skill training to school dropouts, unemployed youth in rural and semi urban areas thereby helping them lead a financially independent life
