Sudipto Nag serves as the Group Head & Chief Credit Officer at Axis Bank. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives across Credit Risk Management, Portfolio Analytics, Debt Servicing and Asset Quality, with a strong focus on building scalable, data-driven, and technology-enabled credit frameworks that strengthen portfolio performance and drive profitability.

With over 25 years of experience in banking, Sudipto has played a pivotal role in driving large-scale transformation programmes across retail, rural, and SME banking. Prior to joining Axis Bank, he had a distinguished tenure at ICICI Bank, where he led multiple initiatives spanning Business Process Transformation, Debt Servicing, Credit Policy, and Portfolio Management. He has been instrumental in navigating the bank through multiple credit cycles, enabling the transition from product-centric underwriting to customer-centric, analytics-led credit decision-making. His expertise lies in combining strategic vision with strong execution capabilities to build resilient and sustainable portfolio growth models.  

He is a recipient of several industry awards, including the Retail Banker International – Asia Trailblazer Award (Singapore, 2015), the AAA (The Asset) Awards (Hong Kong, 2020), and the Celent Model Award (Boston, 2020) for transformative initiatives. He is also an active speaker at leading industry platforms such as FIBAC (FICCI Indian Banking Conference), Global Fintech Fest (GFF), and L&T RAISE.

Sudipto Nag holds an MBA with specialization in Marketing and Systems and has completed the Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. He brings deep domain expertise in Credit Risk, Portfolio Management, Distribution, and Business Transformation
