Anuranjan Kumar

Anuranjan Kumar is a seasoned banking professional with over 33 years of experience spanning compliance, risk management, governance, operations, and retail banking. As the Group Chief Compliance Officer (GCCO) of Axis Bank, he leads the compliance framework and governance agenda across the Bank and the Axis Group, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and fostering a strong culture of compliance.

Prior to assuming this role, he served as Head, Operational Health & Control at Axis Bank. Before joining Axis Bank, he spent nearly three decades with Citibank, holding senior leadership positions across India, Singapore and Bangladesh, with responsibilities spanning operations, risk, controls, and business management.

In his current capacity, Anuranjan works closely with regulators, the Board, Audit Committees, and senior management on matters relating to compliance, governance, risk management, and regulatory oversight across the Axis Group.

Anuranjan holds a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, and a Master of Finance & Control (MFC) degree from the University of Delhi.
